Salary: $16.00 hourly for 40 to 44 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent employment
Location: Kelowna, BC
Shifts: Overtime, To be determined, 08:00 to 17:00
Work setting: Employer’s home, own home, optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment, staff accommodation is provided, room and board provided, relocation costs covered by employer and willing to relocate
Work site environment: Candidates should work in non-smoking area
Security and safety: Bond required, Child Abuse Registry should checked, child welfare should checked, criminal record should checked, driver’s validity licence should checked, driving record should checked (abstract), drug test required, medical exam required, reference is required and vulnerable sector should checked
Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer, willing to travel, willing to travel regularly, valid driver’s licence required, public transportation is available and travel expenses paid by employer

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of more than one language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Candidates must have Emergency child care first aid and CPR, CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work overtime

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in a flexible environment, in an organized way and also take initiative
  • The candidate should have an excellent oral communication
  • The candidate should be able to supervise and care for twins and also school age (6 – 12 years)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties, bathe, dress and feed infants and children, discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, prepare and serve nutritious meals, prepare infants and children for rest periods, sterilize bottles, prepare formulas and change diapers for infants, take children to and from school and to appointments and also help children with homework
  • The candidate should be able to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children, maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home and also supervise and care for children
