Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years 
Credentials: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Basic security clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be non-smoking, and the workplace should be air-conditioned
  • The candidates should be capable of handling repetitive tasks and be physically fit to meet the demands of the job
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be able to perform activities such as bending, crouching, and kneeling

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be punctual and demonstrate dependability
  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication skills and exhibit reliability
  • The candidates should be team players and have the ability to multitask

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children effectively, and engage children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and taking them to local points of interest to stimulate their imagination and learning
  • The candidates should be able to support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, assisting them as needed, and assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records accurately and up-to-date to track children’s progress and development
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities like storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts to foster their creativity and self-expression, and provide opportunities for children to express their creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity, encouraging exploration and experimentation
  • The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, promoting independence and self-care skills, and maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties to ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment
  • The candidates should be able to prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, ensuring children’s comfort and well-being, and observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors as necessary
  • The candidates should be able to assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members, fostering collaboration and communication, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, prioritizing their safety and comfort at all times
