Salary: $18.06 to $35.09 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: 2 Stead Place St. John’s, NL A1G 1E7
Shifts: Day, 08:00 to 16:30
Transportation information: Own transportation and Public transportation is available

Work setting: Child care centre and Urban area
Supervision: 1 to 2 people
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed a College or CEGEP program from an accredited institution or possess equivalent educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials:Â Child development worker (ECE level 2) and First Aid Certificate
Security and safety:Â Criminal record check and Vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in air-conditioned environments, maintaining focus and attention to detail
- The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout their workday, adapting as necessary
- The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as required for certain tasks, while maintaining precision and accuracy

- The candidates should demonstrate punctuality and dependability, consistently arriving on time for work, fulfilling duties, and meeting deadlines
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, and interpersonal awareness, fostering effective communication, collaboration, and adaptation to changing circumstances

Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide care for infants and toddlers, develop and implement child-care programs supporting their holistic development
- The candidates should engage in storytelling activities, supervise staff, and lead various activities promoting children’s development
- The candidates should handle administrative tasks, support educators in program implementation, maintain records, and assess children’s progress
- The candidates should observe children for signs of potential issues, establish behavior guidelines, and collaborate with co-workers and community service providers
- The candidates should ensure a safe and healthy environment, plan activities for school-age children, and supervise and coordinate the activities of other early childhood educators and assistants
