Salary: $20.00 to $24.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 37.5 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Surrey, BC
Work setting: Child care centre

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Credentials: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and Immunization records

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should maintain a high level of attention to detail
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be capable of activities such as bending, crouching, and kneeling

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records and guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidates should be able to maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
  • The candidates should be able to assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
  • The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
