Let Me Be Me Learning Foundation based in Nanaimo, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of ECE assistant. Salary: $21.00 hourly for 30 to 35 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: 1585 Bowen Rd. Nanaimo, BC V9S 1G4
Shifts: Day, Evening, Shift, Morning
Work setting: Child care centre, urban area

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable with repetitive tasks and demonstrate attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to perform a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, as well as being capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as necessary

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assess the children’s development to prepare a tailored learning plan and engage in storytelling
  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, maintain daycare equipment, and assist early childhood educators in promoting children’s development
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities, order supplies, engage children in various activities, and guide proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidates should be able to prepare snacks, arrange rooms for lunch and rest periods, and observe children for potential learning or behavioral problems
  • The candidates should submit written observations, discuss progress and problems at staff meetings, and establish guidelines for behavior
  • The candidates should have knowledge of licensing regulations, assess children’s abilities, interests, and needs, and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers
  • The candidates should plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
