Pooch Cafe Groom & Biscuit is a beloved pet grooming and retail destination dedicated to providing exceptional care and products for furry companions. Specializing in grooming services for dogs of all breeds and sizes, Pooch Cafe Groom & Biscuit offers a range of services, including bathing, haircuts, nail trimming, and more, to keep pets looking and feeling their best. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $18.00 to $22.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Kelowna, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Flexible Hours, Morning
Work setting: Pet grooming shop
Type of pets groomed: All breeds of dogs
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Pet first aid course, pet grooming certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and be prepared for physically demanding tasks, able to handle heavy loads comfortably
- The candidates should be comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling, excel in a fast-paced environment, and stand for extended periods
- The candidates should have experience in weight handling, up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should prioritize client focus and demonstrate dependability, possessing efficient interpersonal skills
- The candidates should have excellent oral and written communication, exhibit flexibility, and exercise good judgment
- The candidates should showcase reliability and function effectively as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to bathe and shampoo animals, clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stalls, and enclosures
- The candidates should be able to conduct anal glands treatment, clean animal ears, and provide flea bath treatments to animals
- The candidates should be able to maintain and order supplies, and clip animal nails
