Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or Intermediate or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have 1 – 3 years of experience in providing financial advice to clients

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to flexible to work in banking centre hours, including evenings and weekends
  • The candidate should be able to work at multiple banking centres within a reasonable travel distance

  • The candidates should be certified professionals (MFDA) with current accreditation and good standing in The Canadian Securities Course (CSC)/Canadian Investments Funds Course (CIFC) and must meet eligibility requirements for MFDA licensing
  • The candidates should be certified professionals (Quebec) with current accreditation and good standing in AMF licensing. Successful completion of Canadian Investment Funds Course (CIFC) or the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) to support AMF (Autorité des Marchés Financiers) licensing, and Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC). It’s an asset if they’ve completed CSI/ICB Investment and Taxation Fundamentals Course – Quebec (0774) and CSI/ICB Legal & Ethical Aspects of Financial Planning Course (0790)
  • The candidates should be certified professionals (MFDA – Ontario) with current accreditation and good standing in the Canadian Securities Course (CSC)/Canadian Investments Funds Course (CIFC) and must meet eligibility requirements for MFDA licensing. They have, or are willing to obtain before their start date, the Designated Financial Services Advisor Designation (DFSA) through the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI)
  • The candidates should prioritize values, bringing their real selves to work and living the values of trust, teamwork, and accountability

  • The candidate should be able to establish lasting connections and provide the right financial advice to help clients secure their futures, own homes, and set up businesses
  • The candidate should be able to focus on each client experience, connecting on a personal level to make every interaction meaningful. Provide tailored advice and solutions in all areas of financial planning, including day-to-day banking, investments, lending, and estate planning
  • The candidate should be able to cultivate their network to establish new client relationships
  • The candidate should be able to deeply understand their local market and potential client base to create sales plans that convert leads into new clients. Use strong relationship-building and networking skills to create connections, generate opportunities, and deliver bottom-line results
  • The candidate should be able to leverage CIBC’s wide range of credit and investment solutions to provide a needs-based approach, resulting in satisfied, loyal clients, and increased referrals
  • The candidate should be able to heighten CIBC brand awareness in their community by attending local events and participating in marketing and outreach activities. Grow their network to create lasting connections that will generate future opportunities
