Work setting: Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment, Room and board provided, Work in employer’s / client’s home, Employer’s home
Target audience, Adults: Elderly, Females, and Young adults.
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: CPR Certificate and Personal Support Worker Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and Reference required
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be non-smokers
- The candidates should be comfortable with tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling, and capable of working under pressure
- The candidates should be able to handle a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and able to walk as part of their duties
- The candidates should be able to sit for extended periods as required and handle weights up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should exhibit punctuality and demonstrate dependability
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and have excellent oral communication abilities
- The candidates should demonstrate flexibility and show initiative, be organized and demonstrate reliability
- The candidates should be team players, be honest, and exhibit patience
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care with compassion and professionalism, administer medications accurately, and assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene respectfully
- The candidates should be able to assist in regular exercise, such as walking, to promote physical well-being, launder clothing and household linens efficiently, and mend clothing and linens as needed to maintain their quality
- The candidates should be able to perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to ensure a clean and comfortable environment, provide companionship to clients, engaging in conversation and activities to promote emotional well-being, and provide personal care with attention to detail and sensitivity to the client’s needs
- The candidates should be able to prepare and serve nutritious meals tailored to the client’s dietary needs and preferences
