Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a four year post-secondary degree with an emphasis in accounting, business and finance
Experience: Candidates should have A minimum of four years’ work experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be available to work overtime during peak periods
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have previous experience to learn and apply accounting theories and concepts, and on-the-job experience to work through the annual cycle and become familiar with the functions of the municipality
- The candidates should be currently enrolled in a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA) program at an intermediate or senior level
- The candidates should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and highly motivated and creative
- The candidates should have a high customer service orientation, excellent organization and communication skills, and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- The candidates should have a consultative and collaborative approach to working with clients and cross-functional teams
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to support the development and implementation of the City’s Development Charges Program, including Background Study, By-law, and related policy development
- The candidates should be able to monitor and determine the impacts of Development Act updates or policy changes
- The candidates should be able to ensure accurate calculations, proper revenue collection, and reporting for Development Charges and Cash-In-Lieu of Parkland
- The candidates should be able to review and validate subdivision, condominium, development and site plans and other agreements to ensure compliance with all financial matters related to building permit issuance
- The candidates should be able to administer all Development Charge Front End Financing agreements, Development Charge credit agreements, track Development Charges credits, and handle reimbursements to applicable developers
- The candidates should be able to support the Financial Analysis team in the annual budgeting and forecasting process by providing analysis and information on the Development Charge program
- The candidates should be able to conduct year-end preparation of working papers and update procedures and policies
