Robert and Colette Tax based in Bowmanville, ON is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Labourer, Fruit Farming. Robert and Colette Tax is known to grow various kinds of fruits and vegetables. We have constructed high tunnels which we use for soil grown fruit and vegetables. We are known to grow healthier and higher quality fruits and vegetables with little to no pesticide use. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Work Site Environment: Other vegetables and melon farming (except potato), Outdoors, Wet/damp, Noisy, Odours, Dusty, Hot
Work Setting: Rural area
Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate or a diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Type of Crops: Sweet corn, Potatoes
Equipment and Machinery Experience: Farm truck, Lift truck, Planting equipment, Tractor, Vegetable harvester
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work work in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure
- The candidate should be able to work with tight deadlines and perform repetitive tasks
- The candidate should be able to handle heavy loads and pay attention to detail
- The candidate should be able to work with hand-eye coordination and have the ability to distinguish between colors
- The candidate should have sound discrimination skills and work for overtime hours
- The candidate should be physically demanding and a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling and standing for extended periods
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have an efficient interpersonal skills and work in a flexible environment
- The candidate should have judgment skills and be a team player
Responsibilities:
- The candidate be able to perform tasks such as hand harvesting vegetables, harvest crops, hoeing crops and seed cutting
- The candidate should be able to plant, cultivate and irrigate crops also operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
