Schedule: Monday – Friday (5 days per week): 9:00-4:30 (35 hours per week)
Length of Contract: 7 Months

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a two (2) year diploma in Early Childhood Education
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of two (2) years experience teaching in a licensed early learning child care setting, preferably where students complete their placements

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should have registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators in good standing
  • The candidate should have possession of a Standard First Aid Certificate with CPR C
  • The candidate should have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • The candidate should have demonstrated experience in working with young children with exceptionalities

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide ongoing supervision of children in the classroom, playground, group, and routine activities
  • The candidates should be able to establish positive interactions and rapport while guiding children’s behavior according to the Centre’s policies and procedures
  • The candidates should ensure the health and safety of children
  • The candidates should adhere to the requirements of the Childcare and Early Years Act
  • The candidates should provide support to the Preschool Program
  • The candidates should uphold the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice within the College of Early Childhood Educators, Ontario
  • The candidates should communicate effectively and respectfully with families while upholding confidentiality
