Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), child development supervisor (ECE level 3), child development worker (ECE level 2), and Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable with repetitive tasks and demonstrate attention to detail
- The candidates should be capable of a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be able to bend, crouch, and kneel as required
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should prioritize punctuality and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication
- The candidates should be dependable, possess efficient interpersonal skills, and exhibit excellent written communication
- The candidates should display flexibility, have interpersonal awareness, and exercise good judgment
- The candidates should be reliable, adhere to values and ethics, and be team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and engage in storytelling with children
- The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, while encouraging children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
- The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors, and submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
- The candidates should be able to discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
- The candidates should be able to attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
