Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of post-secondary education in a Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources, or General Sciences
Experience: Candidates should have 3+ years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety and Human Resources
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be capable of contributing to the development and implementation of safety programs and initiatives
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a related role, with experience in retail and warehousing and demonstrate knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices
- The candidates should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address safety and HR-related issues effectively
- The candidates should exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with team members and stakeholders
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to identify, monitor, evaluate, and track all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) activities through audits and record-keeping methods
- The candidates should be able to deliver appropriate training to reduce workplace hazards and the potential for accidents and lead full investigations of major accidents and incidents
- The candidates should be able to drive the continuous improvement process to ensure OHS compliance and utilize technical knowledge to identify and address workplace risks and hazards
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with the senior manager to ensure training programs comply with provincial OHS regulations
- The candidates should be able to provide OHS knowledge, expertise, and guidance to employees and key stakeholders
- The candidates should be able to act as the key company representative with labor and health authorities for all OHS-related activities
- The candidates should be able to lead activities related to the organization’s participation in provincial certification or rebate programs, such as BC COR and ON HSEP and provide occasional support to retail stores in the Lower Mainland
