Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a current BLS certification
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of current clinical Respiratory Therapy experience in an adult ICU

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have work collaboratively with ICU and NICU supervisors and educators to design, implement, and monitor practice changes
  • The candidates should fulfill physical requirements such as extended periods of walking or standing, exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous situations, and assisting in transporting, lifting, and positioning patients
  • The candidates should have bend, lift, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 20 lbs and promote a healthy, respectful, and safe work environment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have demonstrate 5 years of current Level II/III NICU experience and demonstrated pattern of professional development, showcasing interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • The candidates should have manage competing priorities, act self-directed, exercise independent decision-making, and effectively resolve conflicts
  • The candidates should have act as a clinical resource for all members of the interprofessional team in the ICU and NICU and support family-centered care in both ICU and NICU settings
  • The candidates should have present proof of graduation from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy and demonstrate current independent RRT acute care experience within the last 5 years across ICU, ED, Wards, NICU, and Outreach settings
  • The candidates should have showcase charge experience and familiarity with RGH site orientation and provide certifications in NRP, PALS, ACLS, CRE, CTE, and CAE or equivalent instructor qualifications
  • The candidates should have display active CSRT membership and possess a health-related degree and demonstrate completion of professional development courses within the last 3 years, including WISE and simulation training
  • The candidates should have show formal preceptor training and tobacco reduction training and provide evidence of current participation in healthcare committees or working groups and demonstrate certifications in arterial line and intubation procedures

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assess patients (clients, residents) to determine their respiratory therapy and implement comprehensive respiratory therapy care plans
  • The candidates should be able to monitor patient progress and adjust care plans and administer respiratory interventions to improve patient outcomes
  • The candidates should be able to manage and operate various diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory equipment
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate effectively with clinical teams and groups to enhance overall clinical outcomes
  • The candidates should be able to provide training and guidance to health care providers on the proper use and care of respiratory equipment
  • The candidates should be able to educate patients and their families about respiratory diseases, medications, equipment, and treatment options
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a patient-centered approach to deliver quality respiratory care
