Salary: $26.00 to $31.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Own transportation, own vehicle, valid driver’s licence, and public transportation is available
Supervision: 11-15 people and contractors
Type of product: Automobile parts

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Type of industry experience: Steel industry and Automotive parts manufacturing
Area of specialization: Forklift
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel and MS Outlook
Credentials: Counterbalanced forklift training, forklift operator certification, propane certification, overhead crane certification, First Aid certificate, fall arrest protection training course, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks
  • The candidates should have good manual dexterity
  • The candidates should have strong attention to detail
  • The candidates should have excellent hand-eye coordination
  • The candidates should be comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment, operate a variety of equipment to load, unload, and move materials and products, and make labels and attach them to goods
  • The candidates should be able to wrap goods, sort, crate, and stack goods, and store cargo and materials
  • The candidates should be able to organize and maintain inventory, organize inventories using computerized inventory control systems, and direct quality control inspections
  • The candidates should be able to plan and implement changes to machinery and equipment, production systems, and methods of work, develop equipment maintenance schedules, and recommend the replacement of machines
  • The candidates should be able to hire, supervise, and train or oversee the training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques, plan and organize daily operations, and maintain an inventory of raw materials and finished products to prevent shortages
  • The candidates should be able to evaluate daily operations and develop production schedules and duty assignments to ensure proper functioning
