Salary: $25.00 to $30.00 hourly (To be negotiated) 40 to 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Seasonal employment Full time
Location: St. John’s, NL
Shifts: Evening, Weekend, Early Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Equipment operation, Excavation, Grading, and Paving
Supervision: 5-10 people, Apprentices, Heavy equipment operators, except crane, Labourers, and Trades helpers
Type of industry experience: Construction
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 5 years or more
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat
Credentials: Personal protective equipment (PPE) training, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working in dusty environments
- The candidates should be able to work in noisy conditions
- The candidates should be willing to work outdoors
- The candidates should be capable of meeting tight deadlines
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be accurate, dependable, possess efficient interpersonal skills, and demonstrate good judgment
- The candidates should be organized, reliable, and team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to estimate costs and materials, prepare production and other reports, and coordinate and schedule activities
- The candidates should be able to coordinate work activities with other project supervisors or managers, establish methods to meet work schedules, and read blueprints and drawings
- The candidates should be able to resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, as well as supervise workers and projects
