Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Degree in the social sciences
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to work in a team
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to effectively exchange information
  • The candidates should possess the ability to think critically
  • The candidates should have the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • The candidates should demonstrate strong time management and task management skills

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience working with children, families and within an Indigenous community
  • The candidates should have office administration experience
  • The candidates should possess knowledge of social work services relating to children and families
  • The candidates should have knowledge of records management practices
  • The candidates should have knowledge of legislation governing the CSSD as related to children and families
  • The candidates should have strong relationship building skills
  • The candidates should provide a Certificate of Conduct satisfactory to the Employer
  • The candidates should provide a Vulnerable Sector Query satisfactory to the Employer
  • The candidates should provide a Child Protection Clearance Check satisfactory to the Employer
  • The candidates should possess a driver’s license

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to interact directly with clients or public, performing analytical and administrative functions
  • The candidates should be able to recommend and assess eligibility for services based on delegated authority, applicable legislation, and policy
  • The candidates should be able to assist in completing background checks and supervise access visits
  • The candidates should be able to prepare applications for benefits for children under the care of the Manager
  • The candidates should be able to ensure appropriate documentation of case records and analyze workload management tools
  • The candidates should be able to prepare files for and attend court
  • The candidates should be able to contact service providers as needed to request documentation
  • The candidates should be able to assist clients with identifying community supports and accompany Social Workers on home visits
  • The candidates should be able to arrange case conferences and Individual Support Services Plan meetings
  • The candidates should be able to provide instruction, model appropriate communication and interaction between parents and children, and assist youth with a variety of life skill activities
