Shifts: Day, Early Morning, Morning
Work setting: Employer’s home, optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis (note: this is NOT a condition of employment), rural area, and work in employer’s/client’s home

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: International English Language Testing System (IELTS) proficiency test, CPR Certificate, and First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Child Abuse Registry check, child welfare check, criminal record check, reference required, and vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be non-smoking
• The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions, perform repetitive tasks, and handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should have a strong client focus, demonstrate excellent oral communication, exhibit flexibility, and show initiative
• The candidates should be organized, demonstrate reliability, and demonstrate patience

Candidate Status:

• Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
• International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, and travel with the family on trips to assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties
• The candidates should be able to bathe, dress, and feed infants and children, discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, and instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
• The candidates should be able to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children, maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, and organize activities such as games and outings for children
• The candidates should be able to prepare and serve nutritious meals, prepare infants and children for rest periods, and supervise and care for children
• The candidates should be able to take children to and from school and to appointments, and tend to the emotional well-being of children
