Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Graduation from high school
Experience: Candidates should have experience in stockroom

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be capable of regularly lifting and moving goods and materials weighing 10-50 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs
  • The candidates should be able to perform physical tasks such as unloading or loading goods or materials by hand or with pallet jacks and forklifts, as well as lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving supplies while maintaining stock shelves
  • The candidates should be prepared to work both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in adverse weather conditions
  • The candidates should be willing to travel extensively throughout the Region and demonstrate the ability to make independent, sound decisions
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage time and tasks effectively and exhibit professionalism in their work

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience with transportation and delivery of goods and experience with computerized inventory control systems
  • The candidates should possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license, forklift certification and provide a recent and satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
  • The candidates should have knowledge of transportation and delivery of goods practices and procedures and knowledge of stockroom procedures
  • The candidates should have knowledge of computerized inventory control systems and hold forklift certification
  • The candidates should have knowledge of relevant Occupational Health and Safety regulations
  • The candidates should possess a valid Province of Newfoundland and Labrador Class 05 license

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to safely operate and service light vehicles including pick-up trucks, delivery vans, and automobiles
  • The candidates should be able to transport a variety of materials and passengers to various locations
  • The candidates should be able to receive, issue, and distribute equipment parts, maintaining standard records of inventory transactions using a computerized system
  • The candidates should be able to report mechanical defects of vehicles to their supervisor and ensure the stockroom is maintained in a clean and safe manner
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a filing system for all paperwork related to their duties and provide transportation for passengers
  • The candidates should be able to perform minor repairs and service vehicles with gas, oil, and grease
  • The candidates should be able to operate a forklift to unload and load transport trucks and light
