Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be prepared for travel as part of the role and adhere to the mandatory use of personal protective equipment
  • The candidates should be open to possible shift work, including nights and weekends

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience inspecting, maintaining, or operating a variety of carpentry, plumbing, heating, and electrical systems, as well as other building maintenance work
  • The candidates should have experience diagnosing trouble in all types of building systems and determining the proper method, tools, supplies, and equipment for maintenance or repair
  • The candidates should possess knowledge of health and safety practices and procedures and demonstrate effective communication skills
  • The candidates should exhibit effective interpersonal skills, capable of working with minimal supervision and display strong client service skills
  • The candidates should obtain and maintain a valid RCMP Vulnerable Sector check security clearance and hold a valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s licence

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform ongoing monitoring, operation, and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and associated systems required to maintain the environment of Government-owned and occupied buildings
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of building occupants and users in the most cost-effective manner possible
  • The candidates should be able to conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance tasks on building systems and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues as they arise
  • The candidates should be able to maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
  • The candidates should be able to comply with all health and safety regulations and policies
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate effectively with other members of the Property Management team and building occupants
  • The candidates should be able to participate in emergency response and recovery efforts
  • The candidates should be able to perform other duties as assigned by the Property Manager or Supervisor
