Salary: $18.00 to $22.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 20 to 35 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Surrey, BC
Shifts: Day, On Call, Flexible Hours, Morning, 08:30 to 16:00
Type of materials: Canvas, cotton or synthetic, knits, satin, and velvet
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Equipment and machinery experience: Hemmer or blindstitcher, industrial sewing machine, serger or overlock, and single needle machine
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to distinguish between colours accurately, ensuring proper identification and handling of materials, and maintain strong attention to detail, focusing on precision and quality in all tasks
- The candidates should be able to perform tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling as required by the job, and work effectively in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout their shift
- The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks efficiently, and handle physically demanding tasks, demonstrating stamina and strength
- The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks consistently, maintaining productivity and accuracy, and sit for extended periods, focusing on tasks without distraction
- The candidates should be able to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs), lifting and carrying materials safely
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be accurate in their work, ensuring high precision and minimal errors, and have strong judgement skills, making well-informed decisions and handling situations effectively
- The candidates should be organized, managing tasks and resources efficiently to meet deadlines and objectives, and demonstrate reliability, consistently performing duties and fulfilling responsibilities as expected
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment, operate machines to join sections of garments or other articles into finished products on a piece-work or production basis, and use sewing guides and tension devices
