Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have graduated from an approved school of nursing program
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to constantly move, lift up to 10 lbs., regularly move and lift up to 25 lbs., and occasionally restrain, reposition, move and lift up to 30 lbs
  • The candidates should be able to constantly stand, walk and work in awkward or cramped positions to assist with procedures and push or pull with up to medium force
  • The candidates should be able to constantly use fine finger, precision, auditory, sensory, and visual concentration to provide and conduct risk assessments, observe, monitor patients, complete documents, follow directions and administer medications
  • The candidates should be prepared to be subject to time pressures, deadlines and a lack of control over work pace

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL)
  • The candidates should be willing to complete a 6-8 week Perioperative Training Course or Orientation and a satisfactory record of work performance

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to coordinate and participate in the delivery of holistic and supportive care to patients, clients, or residents by assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care
  • The candidates should be able to provide health promotion, curative, supportive, rehabilitative, and palliative services
  • The candidates should be able to provide professional supervision, direction, or mentoring to the nursing care team while supporting other members of the interprofessional team to achieve safe and effective patient care
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that documentation and nursing policies and practices are followed while working with families to ensure the highest standard of care
