Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have 1 to 2 years of sandblasting experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a positive attitude with a willingness to learn and physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
  • The candidates should be able to work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, company rules, policies, and procedures
  • The candidates should be willing to work some overtime and the ability to work both independently and in a team setting

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have previous experience operating a forklift and knowledgeable of all shop Safe Work Procedures and ensure they are being followed
  • The candidates should be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment when performing tasks and cleaning tools and equipment, including steel-toed CSA work boots, hearing protection, and safety glasses
  • The candidates should have experience working in a manufacturing environment and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and a valid driver’s license, with an abstract required upon hire

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to use forklifts and overhead cranes to load and move equipment in and out of designated areas
  • The candidates should be able to comply with all safety standards in place to ensure a safe working environment
  • The candidates should be able to operate and maintain sandblasting equipment effectively
  • The candidates should be able to monitor and fill the sandblast pot as required during operations
  • The candidates should be able to use hand tools, including grinders, saws, strapping tools, and other assorted tools to accomplish tasks
  • The candidates should be able to conduct visual inspections and report any visible imperfections such as bolts, touch-ups, or irregularities
  • The candidates should be able to ensure equipment and tools are in good working condition and report concerns for maintenance services
  • The candidates should be able to follow and meet instructions accurately to complete tasks efficiently
  • The candidates should be able to maintain and clean the sandblast area as well as yard storage locations to ensure organized workspaces
  • The candidates should be able to keep their work area tidy and perform general housekeeping duties and assist other departments as required, including support in welding, yard arranging, painting, and receiving tasks
