Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Diploma of Vocational Studies
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of field experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest and handle any required work permits or visas or authorizations on their own
- The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations depending on the work location
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess a valid Driver’s Licence with a clean abstract and possess an Interprovincial Journeyman Millwright license or Red Seal
- The candidates should have knowledge of building mechanics, hangar door systems, control systems, mechanical system operation, MIG welding, and CMMS
- The candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills and be detail-oriented
- The candidates should have basic computer knowledge, including Word, Excel, email, and internet
- The candidates should meet Air Canada medical standards, including passing a medical evaluation, drug and alcohol test, and be free of any intoxicating substances
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform preventative maintenance and servicing on building-related mechanical equipment
- The candidates should be able to investigate and troubleshoot faulty hangar doors, overhead doors, fire doors, motors, gearboxes, and other related equipment
- The candidates should be able to install, maintain, repair, dismantle, and reassemble machinery and use welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools as necessary for various tasks
- The candidates should be able to perform minor repairs, including the replacement of gearboxes, sprockets, chains, and door panels
- The candidates should be able to perform visual inspections of buildings to ensure compliance with Building Code standards
- The candidates should be able to ensure all work is completed in a safe manner and complies with applicable industry standards and perform other facility-related duties
- The candidates should be able to work effectively as a team member and demonstrate the ability to work unsupervised and self-directed
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently
- The candidates should be able to work shifts, including weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation
