Canadian Mental Health Association’s Cochrane Timiskaming Branch is focused on advancing mental health in the Cochrane and Timiskaming areas. It offer counseling, crisis intervention, and educational programs to support mental wellness and reduce stigma. Its integrated approach combines outreach and support services to foster a healthier, more informed community. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree from an accredited university
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of one year of experience in triage, clinical assessment, and treatment delivery of evidence-based CBT and CPT following the OSP model

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field and formal CBT and CPT training with supervision or clinical consultation following the OSP model
  • The candidates should hold a current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO), Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO), College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), or College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Additional specialized training in CBT, CPT, and Prolonged Exposure (PE)
  • The candidates should possess a Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate
  • The candidates should be legally able to perform the Controlled Act of Psychotherapy and experience in in-person and virtual care delivery and previous experience working with post-secondary students, including Indigenous and International students
  • The candidates should have demonstrated experience working in a community-based or outpatient setting
  • The candidates should have demonstrated experience utilizing evidence-based CBT treatment models with clients experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and anxiety-related conditions
  • The candidates should have demonstrated knowledge and practiced skills in providing culturally safe and responsive mental health services to clients of diverse ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds
  • The candidates should have demonstrated knowledge of the science and practice of structured psychotherapy, including a full range of psychotherapeutic and assessment techniques to assess, plan, coordinate, and implement specific clinical protocols
  • The candidates should have demonstrated ability to distinguish features of depression, anxiety, and anxiety-related conditions, and the etiology and treatment of these disorders
  • The candidates should have demonstrated knowledge of relevant sections of legislation and demonstrated experience facilitating psychotherapeutic groups
