Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates should have specialization in special education, inclusive education, or a relevant subject area
Experience: Candidates should have JK–12 teaching experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have sound judgment and problem-solving ability and use data to make informed instruction-related decisions

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be open to diversity and be knowledgeable about the Ministerial Directive on Inclusive Schooling
  • The candidates should have experience and training in special education and assessment and general knowledge of the Department of Education prescribed curricula
  • The candidates should have experience in developing and implementing support plans and be familiar with TIENET software
  • The candidates should promote positive parental engagement, excellent class management skills and experience in multi-grade classrooms and differentiated instruction
  • The candidates should have excellent communication skills to engage effectively with students, parents, staff, and other professionals in English and French
  • The candidates should be familiar with the use of assistive technologies and a very good understanding of literacy and numeracy development
  • The candidates should be able to work creatively and collaboratively with a variety of education partners
  • The candidates should have excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills and demonstrate continuing professional development
