Salary: $27.83 hourly for 21 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Vancouver, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Work experience with special needs students: Children with an intellectual disability
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR and Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to perform tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • The candidates should be able to encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
  • The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
