Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years practical experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have assets including an Advanced diploma (3 years) in Electrical Engineering; a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline/field; P.Eng designation; a graduate degree; an Ontario College Graduate Certificate; a CET designation in an electrical discipline or a Certificate of Qualification in an electrical skilled trade
  • The candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, or equivalent, preferably in a postsecondary setting
  • The candidates should have a strong understanding of Industrial Telecommunications and Electrical Principles
  • The candidates should have experience with the operation and use of lab test equipment, including digital scopes and spectrum analyzers
  • The candidates should be skilled in building, programming, and troubleshooting embedded and microcontroller systems

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to consult with program and course administrators, faculty members, advisory committees, and a variety of potential employers and students
  • The candidates should be able to define learning outcomes and evaluate and validate these outcomes, specify and approve learning approaches, necessary resources, and other course-related requirements
  • The candidates should be able to incorporate educational technologies to meet the learning needs of 21st-century students
  • The candidates should be able to review and revise curriculum and participate in professional development activities during non-teaching periods
  • The candidates should be able to deliver regularly scheduled instruction in the Fall, Winter, or Summer terms, either in their home department or across departments
  • The candidates should be able to ensure student awareness of course learning outcomes and evaluation techniques, provide tutoring and academic advising for students both in and out of class
  • The candidates should be able to provide a learning environment that makes effective use of available resources, including educational technologies, evaluate student progress and achievement, taking responsibility for the overall assessment of the student’s work within assigned courses
  • The candidates should be able to develop and create a learning environment that is conducive to success for all students
