Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the trade

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time any offer of employment is made and are responsible for obtaining any required work permits/visas or other authorizations
  • The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations as required by Transport Canada

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have 310S, 310T, or Red Seal certification, a valid Automotive Service Technician, Commercial Transport Mechanic, or Heavy Duty Mechanic trades certification
  • The candidates should have an Inter-Provincial Red Seal, successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam
  • The candidates should be able to meet Air Canada medical standards, including passing a medical evaluation, drug and alcohol test, and be free of intoxicating substances

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge of drive-trains, diesel and gasoline engines, propane fuel systems, complex electrical and hydraulic systems, and metal fabrication and welding
  • The candidates should be able to read and understand various schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting and be proficient with computers and diagnostic tools
  • The candidates should be able to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally, while maintaining a customer-focused attitude in a demanding, high-stress environment
