Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience in the trade
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to conduct safety-critical work and meet Air Canada medical standards, including passing a medical evaluation, drug and alcohol test, and being free of any intoxicating substances
- The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time any offer of employment is made and must manage any required work permits/visas or other authorizations
- The candidates must be able to obtain and maintain applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations as required by Transport Canada
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a valid Automotive Service Technician, Commercial Transport Mechanic, or Heavy Duty Mechanic trades certification
- The candidates should have an Inter-Provincial Red Seal certification
The candidates should be able to successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam - The candidates should have Advanced Fuel Injection and Diesel Engine Tune-Up certificates and licenses
- The candidates should have Air Conditioning and Refrigeration certificates/licenses, Propane Fuel Systems certificates and licenses and an Automotive Inspection certificate and licenses
- The candidates should have previous experience maintaining mobile ground power (generators), air conditioners (up to 110 tons), and air start units (compressors up to 250 cfm), with consideration for experience in Farm or Heavy Industrial equipment and current security clearance
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge of drive-trains, diesel and gasoline engines, with working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems; metal fabrication and welding
- The candidates should be able to read and understand various schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting and be proficient with computers and diagnostic tools
- The candidates should be able to work effectively as “team players,” possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills while maintaining a customer-focused attitude in a demanding, high-stress environment
