Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have previous experience working in a municipal government setting

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • The candidates should be able to balance big-picture thinking with the ability to complete detailed engineering reviews

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have knowledge of hydrology and pipe hydraulics theory and calculations, experience working in multi-disciplinary project teams
  • The candidates should have experience with MS Office applications such as Word and Excel, as well as AutoCAD and ArcGIS
  • The candidates should have experience in stakeholder communication and conflict resolution techniques

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to review, manage, and process inquiries related to drainage service connection, ditch infill, and driveway culvert requests
  • The candidates should be able to manage Front Counter inquiries and address concerns from the public regarding various drainage issues
  • The candidates should be able to support Engineering Operations staff in resolving and responding to various drainage-related matters
  • The candidates should be able to assist Drainage staff with land development inquiries and review processes
  • The candidates should be able to work collaboratively with internal staff, other City departments, and liaise effectively with Consultants, Contractors, Utility Companies, and external agencies
  • The candidates should be able to support Drainage staff on a variety of projects and initiatives
