Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a high school graduate
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience as a journeyman in manufacturing, repairing, or modifying patch panels for vehicles and equipment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should have the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, a clear understanding of safety practices relevant to the position
- The candidate should be able to operate the hand tools and equipment required to perform the work involved
- The candidate should have the ability to adhere to the requirements of the Respectful Workplace Standard
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be an equivalent combination of training and experience, hold a Journeyman Motor Vehicle Body Repairer Red Seal Certificate, recognized by the Province of Manitoba, effective verbal and written communication skills
- The candidate should be able to maintain good working relationships with co-workers and employees at all levels of the organization
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to repair and replace vehicle (bus) body parts and components, including sheet metal and fiberglass panels, as well as glass such as windshields, passenger windows, and mirrors
- The candidate should be able to repair vehicle interior fittings, including passenger seat mounting frames, stanchions, flooring, and other related components
- The candidate should be able to perform bench layout work for the manufacture and fabrication of sheet metal vehicle components and parts
- The candidate should be able to perform other related duties consistent with the classification
