Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a bachelor’s degree
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of practical experience
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have an advanced diploma (3 years) in Electrical Engineering, ideally also have one or more of the following assets an advanced diploma (3 years) in a related field; in a related discipline/field; a P.Eng designation; an Ontario College Graduate Certificate; a CET designation in an electrical discipline; or a Certificate of Qualification in an electrical skilled trade
- The candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, or equivalent, preferably in a postsecondary setting
- The candidate should have knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), instrumentation, and electrical machinery
- The candidate should have knowledge of the operating characteristics of transformers and rotating electrical equipment
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to consult with program and course administrators, faculty members, advisory committees, potential employers, and students
- The candidate should be able to define learning outcomes and evaluate and validate these outcomes, specify and approve learning approaches, required resources, and related materials
- The candidate should be able to incorporate educational technologies to meet the learning needs of 21st-century students
- The candidate should be able to review and revise curriculum and participate in professional development activities during non-teaching periods
- The candidate should be able to deliver regularly scheduled instruction during the Fall, Winter, or Summer terms, either within their home department or across departments
- The candidate should be able to ensure student awareness of course learning outcomes and evaluation techniques
- The candidate should be able to provide tutoring and academic advising for students both inside and outside of class
- The candidate should be able to create a learning environment that effectively uses available resources, including educational technologies
