Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment
  • be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time any offer is made; obtaining any required work permits, visas, or authorizations is the sole responsibility of the applicant

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a valid DVS (Diploma of Vocational Studies) or a CCQ card, demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • The candidates should have basic computer knowledge, including proficiency in Word, Excel, email, and internet use
  • The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to prepare, clean, and sand surfaces for painting, repair cracks, holes, and joints using caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers with appropriate tools
  • The candidate should be able to erect scaffolding and swing stages, attach rigging, and apply paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces
  • The candidate should be able to apply primers or sealers to new surfaces such as wood, metal, and drywall to prepare for finish coats
  • The candidate should be able to safely remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electrical covers before painting
  • The candidate should be able to measure and install drywall panels, ensuring proper fit around outlets, HVAC units, doors, and plumbing, complete assignments within the required timeframe
  • The candidate should be able to operate power and hand tools to saw, drill, or cut necessary openings in drywall panels
  • The candidate should be able to produce quality results that meet client expectations and Air Canada’s standards, take direction from the Manager or Lead Hand and work effectively within a team setting
