Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language

Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be willing to travel, including a 3-night overnight stay in Campbell River as part of the work schedule
- The candidates should be available to work Mondays through Fridays, according to a 52-week rotating schedule with various shift times ranging from 0800 to 2100 hours
- The candidates should be available to rest on Saturdays and Sundays, be prepared to travel for mobile events within the community; transportation will be provided by Canadian Blood Services
- The candidates should be able to attend mandatory new employee orientation and training in Vancouver
- The candidates should meet the physical requirements of the role, including the ability to lift weights up to 10 kg (22 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have completed an accredited training program in phlebotomy or possess or an equivalent combination of education, training
- The candidates should have basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and programs, prior knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to communicate effectively with donors and conduct registration and confidential screening to determine donor eligibility while promoting a positive experience
- The candidate should be able to monitor donor well-being during the donation process, ensuring their safety, comfort, and privacy
- The candidate should be able to follow established procedures to safely process and handle blood products
- The candidate should be able to collaborate with team members to assist in the collection of whole blood and apheresis components that contribute to saving lives
- The candidate should be able to assist with the setup of mobile donor clinics, including assembling booths, tables, and necessary equipment to ensure smooth clinic operations
