Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a minimum three year diploma or degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Accounting, or an equivalent qualification
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a budgetary or finance-related position, including experience with full-cycle accounting

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially in Word and Excel, including the ability to create and update complex, formula-driven spreadsheets with graphs, charts, and pivot tables

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a professional accounting designation or be in the process of obtaining one
  • The candidates should have experience working with budget and HR systems, particularly enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • The candidates should possess excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with college employees at all levels as well as external clients
  • The candidates should have experience leading small teams within a unionized environment

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to monitor compliance with internal financial controls and operational procedures within the department
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that budgeted and operational reconciliations and reports are prepared to meet management’s
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of financial information for both internal and external stakeholders
  • The candidates should be able to recognize the importance of confidentiality given the sensitivity of the financial information they handle
  • The candidates should be able to provide direction and guidance to Finance and Support Officers and ITS Managers regarding accounting entries, budget preparation, reporting, and analysis
