Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support team success in a fast-paced environment
- The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time of any job offer and are responsible for securing any necessary work permits, visas, or other authorizations
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess a valid CPA Card (1st, 2nd, or 3rd level Mechanic) or a Red Seal certification
- The candidates should hold a valid Automotive Service Technician, Commercial Transport Mechanic, or Heavy Duty Mechanic trades certification, successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam
- The candidates should meet Air Canada’s medical standards, including passing a medical evaluation and drug and alcohol test, and must be free of intoxicating substances due to the safety-critical nature of the work
- The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain all applicable transportation security clearances and authorizations as per Transport Canada requirements
- The candidates should possess advanced Fuel Injection and Diesel Engine Tune-Up certificates/licenses
- The candidates should possess Air Conditioning and Refrigeration certificates/licenses, possess Propane Fuel Systems certificates/licenses and possess an Automotive Inspection certificate/license
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge of drive-trains, diesel, and gasoline engines
- The candidates should be able to apply working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems; experience with metal fabrication and welding
- The candidates should be able to read and understand various schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting, use computers and diagnostic tools proficiently
- The candidates should be able to work effectively as team players with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The candidates should be able to maintain a customer-focused attitude in a demanding, fast-paced environment
