Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be 16 years of age or older
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to receive prescriptions from patients, ensuring compliance with provincial legal/regulatory requirements and assessing completeness, including patient and prescriber details, third-party information, and prioritizing prescriptions using 21st Century Guidelines
- The candidates should be able to perform computer functions as directed by the pharmacist, including data entry, price checks, patient profile updates, processing prescriptions with accurate interpretation of Latin abbreviations and dosage calculations, and generating reports
- The candidates should be able to fill prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist by selecting appropriate products, performing accuracy checks (7-point, visual, DIN), preparing and labeling medications, organizing for pharmacist review, and facilitating verbal refills and Cognitive Services
- The candidates should be able to maintain inventory control by supporting stock level management, removing expired medications, managing returns, placing orders primarily with preferred wholesalers, using inventory tools, and maintaining accurate labeling and product selection
- The candidates should be able to perform general housekeeping tasks such as stocking prescription supplies, ensuring a clean and organized dispensary, and maintaining dispensing and office equipment
- The candidates should be able to perform clerical tasks including filing prescriptions and administrative documents, and completing administrative support duties such as journals, accounts receivable, and Aged Trial Balances
- The candidates should be able to assist with OTC operations, including ordering, stocking, and performing cashier duties as assigned by the OTC Manager and/or pharmacist
