Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a completed Plumber Journeyman certificate or equivalent interprovincial Red Seal as recognized by the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board
Experience: Candidates should have at least 18 months of related post-ticket Journeyman experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high call, customer-oriented work environment and adjust to changing priorities
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be preferred if they have furnace and hot water tank installation and repair experience, and commercial service experience and a Gasfitter “B” Ticket
- The candidate should possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits, and no current suspensions or charges pending
- The candidate should have a Cross Connection Control Ticket and the ability to register with The City of Calgary, demonstrate strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to receive and respond to service calls for preventative maintenance, demand repairs, contractor support, or troubleshooting of residential furnaces and hot water tanks
- The candidate should be able to order and pick up required parts and arrange for access to the resident unit
- The candidate should be able to investigate complaints, troubleshoot to identify problem sources, and conduct or organize necessary repairs, completing accurate service and repair records
- The candidate should be able to report major issues along with suggested repair scopes to the Maintenance Administrator, Technical Services Coordinator, or Plumbing Foreman
- The candidate should be able to assist the Technical Services Coordinator and Plumbing Foreman with monitoring and inspecting contractor work, help set up an internal preventative maintenance program for furnaces and hot water tanks
- The candidate should be able to conduct preventative inspections and perform regular maintenance on all furnace and hot water tank fixtures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and code requirements
- The candidate should be able to provide excellent customer service to residents, including offering advice on unit maintenance and providing contact information for non-maintenance inquiries
- The candidate should be able to use mobile maintenance applications to manage work orders and inspections efficiently, recommend opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance processes and service delivery
