Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have graduated from a Transport Canada approved school in the Structural Program
Experience: Candidates should have work experience on aircraft in Sheet Metal and/or Composite work
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and handle/prioritize multiple projects
- The candidates should be available to work days, evenings, or nights including weekends and holidays
- The candidates should be highly flexible and adaptable, effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- The candidates should be motivated and enthusiastic team players, the ability to work with minimal supervision and endorsements on Air Canada aircraft types
- The candidates should demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess a Transport Canada (MOT) Structures “S” license, or be working towards an “S” license and expected to obtain it
- The candidates should possess a valid driver’s license, excellent communication skills and strong planning and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform aircraft structural repairs and modifications, completing work according to engineering specifications, manuals, or drawings
- The candidates should be able to carry out and certify sheet metal and composite repairs to aircraft components on Company and contract aircraft
- The candidates should be able to plan, coordinate, and execute repair work efficiently, perform required inspections, evaluations, and maintenance releases (MRs)
- The candidates should be able to resolve material, tooling, and engineering issues affecting repair plans, estimate and define planned repairs accurately
- The candidates should be able to provide technical job direction and mentoring to Aircraft Technicians (ATs) and other Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs), coordinate and supervise maintenance personnel assignments to maximize production flow, collaborating with Team Leaders (TLs), Planners, and other AMEs
- The candidates should be able to sign maintenance releases for non-licensed personnel and ad hoc sign-offs for personnel outside the immediate work group, perform general visual inspections (GVI), detailed visual inspections (DVI), conformity inspections, self-checks, and required inspection items (RII)
- The candidates should be able to sign off defects according to defined standards and provide oversight and management of defect resolution, complete and verify all technical records and data entries related to work performed
- The candidates should be able to ensure adherence to Aircraft Maintenance (AW) and safety policies, processes, and standards, mentor, train, and coach maintenance personnel effectively
- The candidates should be able to provide clear and adequate work handoff information to personnel in Maintenance Operations Control (MOC) and the next shift
