Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be at least 16 years of age or older
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to receive prescriptions from patients, ensuring compliance with provincial legal and regulatory conditions, and assess prescriptions for completeness including patient and prescriber details and prioritize prescriptions according to 21st Century Guidelines
- The candidates should be able to perform computer functions as directed by the Pharmacist, including data entry, price checks, patient information updates, interpretation and processing of prescriptions, dosage calculations, refills, report generation, and patient profile checks
- The candidates should be able to fill prescriptions under the Pharmacist’s supervision by selecting appropriate products, performing accuracy checks (7 point, visual, and DIN), labeling, organizing for pharmacist review, gaining approvals for verbal refills, and facilitating cognitive services
- The candidates should be able to maintain inventory control by assisting with stock levels, checking and removing expired medications, managing Will Call Bin, processing returns, ordering supplies, operating pharmacy equipment like the Telxon gun, and ensuring proper shelving and zoning of pharmacy products
- The candidates should be able to perform general housekeeping duties within the dispensary, including stocking supplies, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and upkeep of packaging and dispensing equipment and office technology
- The candidates should be able to carry out clerical organization by filing prescriptions, invoices, reports, correspondence, and completing administrative support tasks such as journals, accounts receivable, and aged trial balance reports
- The candidates should be able to assist with OTC operations including ordering, stocking, and cashier duties as assigned by the OTC Manager or Pharmacist
