Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master’s degree
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in oncology nursing

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should have the ability to promote change processes

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should hold active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure
  • The candidate should hold current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • The candidate should have a Master’s of Nursing with a Nurse Practitioner specialization, be active or eligible for registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • The candidate should demonstrate leadership experience, hold current BCLS-HCP certification, experience working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, including oncologists and other specialized multidisciplinary roles
  • The candidate should have (RN or NP), possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be a new or expecting graduate NP
  • The candidate should demonstrate experience providing excellent patient and family-centered care

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan
  • The candidates should be able to integrate clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients
  • The candidates should be able to utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare system
