Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School Diploma
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work outside in all-weather conditions, including summer heat and winter cold, as this job is 100% outdoor work
- The candidate should be able to lift a 50 lbs weight overhead (bridge plates are around 50 lbs)
- The candidate should be able to sustain physical work on a daily basis, be available to work weekends and holidays
Other Requirements:
The candidate should possess GED equivalent, possess a valid driver’s license and be bilingual
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to ensure all work cards are identified to the driver number, conduct visual inspections of assigned vehicles and ensure the vehicle is properly stocked for the day’s work
- The candidate should be able to load and unload railcars on designated tracks and within designated parking zones
- The candidate should be able to pick up team members and continue to unload railcars on the track until all railcars are empty
- The candidate should be able to maintain work instructions as generated by the Supervisor
- The candidate should be able to work in coordination with team members to open railcar doors and install bridge-plates between railcars
- The candidate should be able to unchain bi-level and tri-level railcars on the track and perform other related duties
