Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed Grade 12
Experience: Candidates should have experience in doing payroll time entry, accounts payable, and activity allocations in SAP

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should have the ability to remain motivated when working alone, demonstrate good attendance, as it is of operational importance

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should have including or supplemented by courses in mapping software, MS Office programs, and other standard software courses, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The candidate should have considerable related clerical experience working with computerized record-keeping systems, as well as excellent numerical skills with good attention to detail, effective keyboarding, and accurate data entry ability
  • The candidate should have considerable knowledge of applications such as MS Word, Access, and Excel, knowledge of OMS, VanMap, ENGIS, SIS, Hansen, and SAP or equivalent programs
  • The candidate should have good organizational skills to handle a heavy workload and demonstrated ability to handle volume with deadlines, frequent interruptions, and changing priorities
  • The candidate should have demonstrated problem-solving skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The candidate should have experience in using and operating a maintenance/asset management system such as Hansen, and a sound knowledge of underground utilities, operational work for street maintenance and traffic crews, and underground and overhead utility crews

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to research and provide complex and accurate utility information from utility maps, external utility companies, GIS, VanMap, and Hansen to crews and the public upon request
  • The candidate should be able to monitor, report, and respond to water, sewer, intrusion, fire, and other system alarms
  • The candidate should be able to maintain and update computer and manual record systems, answer the phone and dispatch crews
  • The candidate should be able to perform SAP data entry for payroll time entry, costs, and billing
  • The candidate should be able to provide liaison from mobile users to branch offices, City Hall, and other public agencies, assist Police, Fire, and related departments under emergency conditions
  • The candidate should be able to deal extensively with staff and the public, complete word processing, spreadsheet, and database duties
  • The candidate should be able to create and maintain office files and perform other related work
