Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed a Bachelor of Social Work degree
Experience: Candidates should have possess clinical social work experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should have the ability to effectively exchange information, work effectively in a team
  • The candidate should be able to work independently, the ability to manage stress and demonstrate a strong client service orientation

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should have experience completing Bio/Psycho/Social assessments to determine client, experience providing general counselling and referral services
  • The candidate should have experience coordinating services between agencies,  knowledge of professional social work practices and standards
  • The candidate should demonstrate strong case management skills, risk assessment skills, possess counselling skills
  • The candidate should provide a recent and satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the local police, provide a recent and satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Query
  • The candidate should be registered as a professional social worker with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers (NLCSW), acknowledge the requirement for day travel
  • The candidate should acknowledge the requirement for access to transportation or use of a personal vehicle

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team assisting clients with complex
  • The candidate should be able to interview clients to assess their needs and provide appropriate counselling support
  • The candidate should be able to assist clients in navigating complex support services and systems
  • The candidate should be able to collaborate with Client Services Officers, Career Development Specialists, and community stakeholders to coordinate support
  • The candidate should be able to accept referrals from government agencies and community partners efficiently
  • The candidate should be able to provide clients with assistance and information regarding procedures to pursue child support
