Job Description:

No of Vacancies: 1
Salary: $40,000 to $70,000 annually (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time – Virtual job
Location: Kitchener, ON

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French Language
Education: Candidates should have a Master’s degree, or equivalent experience, in fields such as Horse husbandry/equine science and management or Animal nutrition
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of work experience: Agribusiness, Animal breeding, Animals and poultry, Extension or education, Farm management and Marketing 
Own tools/equipment: Computer, Internet access and Cellular phone
Credentials: Membership in a provincial institute of agrology

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a strong attention to detail and comfortable with sitting

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be client-focused, organized, team player, exercise good judgment and efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication skills and excellent written communication skills

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to liaise with researchers, educators, and government or business managers on matters pertaining to farming and agriculture
  • The candidates should be able to maintain records of services provided and the effects of advice given
  • The candidates should be able to prepare and conduct advisory information sessions and lectures for farmers and other groups
  • The candidates should be able to provide counseling and advisory services to farmers on agricultural subjects
