Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have 1-2 years of Labour experience (ideally within pipeline maintenance scope)

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • The candidates should be capable of lifting up to 50lbs
  • The candidates should have demonstrated the ability to work under minimal supervision
  • The candidates should travel often to support maintenance activities in various locations across Alberta is required. Overnight stays away from home
  • The candidates should know that work will be primarily outdoors in various weather conditions

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have and maintain a class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • The candidates should be willing to obtain TDG, Defensive Driving, First Aid Level C, and WHMIS certifications
  • The candidates should be available to begin work in the first week of January 2024
  • The candidates should be willing to work on a project based in various locations across Alberta but will meet in Spruce Grove, AB
  • The candidates should be flexible with duties to support project requirements

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform tasks on the Labour crew to support pipeline maintenance operations, including hand digging of hotlines, removal of existing coating on the pipeline, operating sandblasting units, site set-up, setting up hoarding/fencing, using hand tools, and small machines
  • The candidates should be able to load and unload construction materials and equipment for transport to work locations
  • The candidates should be able to act as a spotter for trucks and other heavy equipment
  • The candidates should be able to provide general clean-up and ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the work area
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that work is completed within deadlines
