Work setting: Commercial and In shop

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have registered apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Type of materials: Stainless steel and Steel, iron and heavy metals
Area of specialization: Custom fabrication, truck repair, machinery or equipment repair
Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine, brazing machine, butt or seam resistance welding machine, gas welding machine, soldering machine, spot welding machine, electrical wiring devices
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and be capable of working in hot conditions
• The candidates should be able to work in confined spaces and be adaptable to dusty environments
• The candidates should be able to work in noisy environments and be tolerant of odors in the workplace
• The candidates should be accustomed to a fast-paced work environment and capable of handling repetitive tasks
• The candidates should be physically fit and able to meet demanding physical requirements, including experience in handling heavy loads
• The candidates should possess manual dexterity and maintain a high level of attention to detail
• The candidates should have excellent hand-eye coordination and be able to stand for extended periods during work

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and have excellent oral communication abilities
• The candidates should demonstrate excellent written communication skills and exhibit flexibility in their approach to work
• The candidates should be organized in their tasks and be a team player
• The candidates should adhere to punctuality in their work and be hardworking in their responsibilities

Candidate Status:

• Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
• International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to interpret welding process specifications and read welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
• The candidates should be able to operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment, as well as operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
• The candidates should be able to examine welds to ensure they meet standards and/or specifications and determine the weldability of materials
• The candidates should be able to operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines, as well as fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal
• The candidates should be able to operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC) and hoisting and lifting equipment
• The candidates should be able to operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products, and operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or fill holes, indentations, and seams of metal
• The candidates should be able to maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
