Salary: $17.00 to $27.50 hourly (To be negotiated) 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: 342 Freshwater Road St. John’s, NL A1B 1C2
Shifts: Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime
Work setting: Bake shop, In shop, Relocation costs not covered by employer, Bistro, and Café

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 years to less than 5 years
Credentials: Baker Trade Certification
Food specialties: Breads and rolls, Desserts and pastries, Donuts and muffins, and Cake decorating
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail in their work
• The candidates should be capable of working in a fast-paced environment
• The candidates should possess hand-eye coordination skills
• The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads as required
• The candidates should exhibit manual dexterity for tasks that require precise movements
• The candidates should be physically capable of performing demanding tasks
• The candidates should be comfortable with repetitive tasks
• The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods as necessary for the job

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
• If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders, bake mixed dough and batters, frost and decorate cakes and baked goods, and ensure that the quality of products meets established standards
• The candidates should be able to requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies, prepare special orders, inspect the kitchen and food service areas, operate machinery, and organize and maintain inventory
• The candidates should be able to prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
