Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Occupational Health and Safety Certificate

Physical Requirements:

The candidates should be able to work in dusty, hot, and noisy environments
The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as required and comfortable with walking as part of their duties
The candidates should possess hand-eye coordination skills and be prepared for physically demanding tasks, including handling heavy loads
The candidates should be proficient in handling repetitive tasks and able to stand for extended periods of time
The candidates should be able to handle weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

The candidates should demonstrate dependability in their work and exhibit excellent oral communication skills
The candidates should possess excellent written communication abilities and be strong team players

Candidate Status:

Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

The candidates should be able to apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints, apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster, and clean and prepare surfaces
The candidates should be able to cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners, fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife, and finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
The candidates should be able to measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets, mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency, and position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
The candidates should be able to smooth out excess compound and allow the coat to dry, cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets, and prepare wall and ceiling layouts
The candidates should be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications, and erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms
